But what makes Catalina’s beaches truly special? The unique white sand and crystal-clear waters, reminiscent of a South Pacific paradise. Another fun thing to do in Catalina Island believe it or not, golf, that’s right! Catalina Island Golf Course in scenic Avalon Canyon is the oldest course west of the Mississippi, offering nine challenging holes with spectacular ocean and city views. Avalon’s Golf Gardens Mini Golf has been a favorite family destination for nearly 50 years.
What’s included on this amazing deal:
2 nights 3 days on a Center Cockpit Sailboat with access to the V Berth bedroom, private restroom, galley with access to the air fryer, coffee maker, TV for movie night, and couple of board games.
Day One – Will set sail from Marina del Rey to Two Harbors Catalina Island. It will take us an estimated time to get to Two Harbors around 5 to 7 hours. During this time you could enjoy dolphin watching while sailing, grilling on the BBQ, and to seal the deal a sunset cruise. After the sunset cruise, you could go into town for a nice dinner, or just relax on the boat.
Day Two – Wake up in Two Harbors. Have a nice coffee on the boat while enjoying the beautiful view of Two Harbors. You could spend the morning strolling around or doing whatever activities you desire. 2 pm you will have the choice to either spend the rest of the day at Two Harbors or set sail to Ishmus where is more secluded if you want to enjoy an intimate relax time by the sand or snorkeling.
Day Three – Set sail back to Marina del Rey at 11 am.

New Dinghy Rental $50 per hour – Cruise Around The Marina
From: $50.00Ahoy Lovebirds and Mateys! Dinghy rental available to cruise around the marina. What is a dinghy incase you’re wondering? Well it’s a small vessel that is commonly used to cruise around the marina. It’s small, easy to drive, perfect for a couple or a group of four people, and it’s just fun.
You don’t need a driver license or any type of license to drive a dinghy. You do however need to understand the rules of the road and the local safety guidelines – which will give you a five minute course before your departure.
Dinghy Rental & Date Ideas
Alright let’s say you made up your mind to rent a dinghy for a date. Here are some lovey dovey suggestions for that seaduction date.
- Start your date with a a light picnic while slowly cruising around Burton Chace Park – that’s if you want to spot some sea lions. In general, sea lions hang out in groups around Burton Chace park but you could find them almost in every basin. Keep in mind that these are wild animals so please don’t try to pet or feed them. Incase you forgot to buy some appetisers then feel free to stop before your rental at Trader Joe’s. Yes, we have a Trader Joe’s at the marina and yes they have dinghy parking.
- They’re 8 basins in Marina del Rey from A-H. Basin A has some of the nicest boats. Basin B has dinghy parking to the restaurant Brizo, which is a great restaurant to take a date if you’re looking for great food with amazing views of the marina. Basin E we call is ‘Baby Beach’ since it’s the basin that connects with Mother’s Beach. Basin E has a dinghy parking to the restaurant Killer Shrimp which is also a great restaurant to take a date. Basin F has views of the beautiful restaurant The Warehouse which looks like a pirate ship.
What to bring on the dinghy rental?
- Check the weather a day or two, preferably, the night before to see if you will need a sweater or even a small blanket.
- Bring some light snacks and non alcoholic drinks. Keep in mind if you decide to drink alchohol and drive the dinghy you run the risk of getting a DUI by the local Sheriff department. They’re deputies cruising around the marina and if you’re spotted drinking and driving you will get a DUI. If by any chance that was to happen, the dinghy will get impounded, and there will be an impound fee of $1,000. DRINK AT YOUR OWN RISK.
- Bring a small speaker.
